7 SMall ways to feel “grown-ish”
What to do when you feel behind at 20:
On 2025 New Years Day, anticipation pooled in my stomach like dread, as it has every single year since I turned sixteen.
In January I turned 20 years old.
The teen years are now fully rear-view visible and my youth has officially begun eroding. (Excuse the melodramatics)
Life is intimidating now more than ever, competitive even. Instagram cost me my sanity,
As some in my graduating class are getting engaged, or traveling
Then there is me, whose childlike features have settled instead of hardened; Whose still completing an associates.
1. What no purse says about you

If you don’t carry a purse, rely heavily on Apple Pay, and by chance have a babyface like mine, people absolutely think you are a highschooler.
My recommendation:
Make it big and bulky, fill it to the brim!
When you carry a lot you exude: busy, bossy, and booked.
2. New HAir, bolder you
If confidence is what you wish exude, wigs and extensions are the cheat code. My recommendation: Wear it long! a little something to toss over the shoulder guarantees confidence
3. Heels go with everything!
Heels belong with casual outfits: leggings, shorts, jeans, even sweatpants! My recommendation: two-inch (for comfort) pointed (for attitude)

4. trench coats
Underneath she’s wearing what most young adults have in their closet.
Notice how the trench coat makes her look put together?

5.COok at home
We are no longer too young for congestive heart disease, and aim to have a non-processed meal every so often.
6. parallel Park like a badass

People who can’t parallel park are limited to where they can park, which is usually outside the city (not fun).
If you master this skill, believe it or not you’re ahead of most adults…
7. This is your path
I’ve learned to stop looking back in peril. There is always something I needed to know that I didn’t. And there always will be. I have become accepting of late arrivals; prefer them even. I prefer them over remaining stationary.
